Life

Dear Daddy

Family, LBK, LifeLaura KittrellComment
Dear Daddy,
Thank you for always working so hard. Thank you for always tucking us in at night and telling us a "dirty" story about the horse falling into the mud and a "clean" one about him getting a bath! Thank you for calling your "cinnamon roll girls" on Sunday mornings. Thank you for being the most caring father. Thank you for loving mom so well. Thank you for constantly having a project and showing us the importance of hard work. Thank you for telling us "one foot in front of the other!" Thank you for the constant reminder from early on that "the first shall be last and the last shall be first." Thank you for being a good example for Brett to see. Thank you for the 6 AM math sessions. Thank you for all of the many many opportunities you gave us. Thank you for encouraging me in everything that I ever did. Thank you for showing me that the most important thing in this life is my relationship with God. Thank you for showing me how to be a giver and not a taker. Thank you for being so generous. Thank you for praying with us and reading God's Word with us. Thank you for walking me down the aisle and giving me away almost 8 months ago! Thank you for being there. Thank you for being one of the greatest role models in my life.
I love you so so much!
Love,
Lou

Currently Beachin' It....

Family, Life, Photography, TravelLaura KittrellComment
Right after Mangs shower on Saturday, we cleaned up real fast, packed the cars and the whole Blackman/Jacobs/Kittrell clans headed to the beach. When we got here...as well as Sunday, there was nothing but rain. The past couple of days have been so fun and we have been enjoying our time! Here are a few photos from our first few days. Yes, they are mostly of Virginia. It's tough being the cutest subject to photograph over 7 weeks old. Of course we have Charlotte but she doesn't cheese it quite like her sister just yet! :)
A little on the cloudy side but a break in the rain on Sunday..
Oh hey husband.....
Love these pictures
Grown girl...
This beach bum slept the whole time we were there...
So...as you can see our days have been full of sunshine, bathing suits, babies, lots of rest, and even more fun! It has been nice to be down here with our whole family! I'm off to enjoy a few more days of fun!

Lucy Myer Was "Showered" With Love

Family, Life, ProjectsLaura KittrellComment
Yesterday, I, along with several other women had the privilege to throw a shower for Amy and Miss Lucy. Amy has always been the queen of shower throwing and never fails to forget a single detail! You may remember the bridal shower that she helped throw for me just a few months ago! She made sure that everything was absolutely perfect! I wanted to do the same for her! The day started with torrential downpours that lasted......all day long! We were a little bit worried but sweet friends braved the weather and Mangs, Pudge, and Lucy were certainly blessed with so many sweet gifts! I had lots of help making this shower great and I hope that my sister felt as loved as she truly is!
Right when people walked in....
We were blessed to have my dad, brother, and the daddy to be, as our own personal valet! They pulled up, were ushered to the door, and they parked cars! So thankful!
A clothesline with all sorts of monogrammed goodies!
Little details
Adorable and delicious cookies made by a sweet friend! Thanks Morgan!
The kitchen setup was my favorite! Parasols hung from the ceiling, flowers everywhere, banners, etc.!
Adorable cake and beautiful monogram
Gumballs and a cute little girl!
Pink lemonade for a girl!
Soon to be parents!!
Mantle
Grandmother, Mangs, and baby Charlotte!
So many thoughtful gifts! Wish I would have gotten a picture of all of the many many gifts she was blessed with! They are all set!
Lucy's arrival checklist! :)
Sadly, we didn't get a picture with all of our hostesses!
Thank you Melia, Mrs. Sherry, Julie, Catherine, Lindsey, and although she wasn't a hostess...thank you mom for letting us use your home and helping!! :)
I love you sweet sister and hope that this shower was up to your standards! :) Just kidding! So thankful for you and happy that God has entrusted Lucy to you and Pudge!! This aunt is pumped to live across the street!! I love you!!

6 Months

Life, the two of usLaura KittrellComment
Brett and I have officially made it to 6 months of marriage!
It has just flown by and I have learned so many things in this short time....
1. Expiration dates dont necessarily always apply....just saying.
2. Monthly meal planning and preparing grocery lists for the month has been a life saver!
3. To-do lists or simply projects you want done never end.
4. Falling asleep and waking up next to your best friend every single day is the best thing ever!
5. When you have a house....you never feel like it is clean enough.
6. He produces WAY more laundry than I do. hmmmm....
7. His definition of cleanliness isn't exactly the same as mine. :)
8. Being married is a lot of fun
9. It is also a lot of work
10. The Lord knew what He was doing when He decided that Brett would be the one to walk beside me for the rest of our lives.
I love you husband and am so thankful for the 6 happiest months of my life! You are the best!

Gardening Progress

Life, ProjectsLaura KittrellComment
So, I have to say, this is a super fun hobby! We are totally gardeners. I had no idea how fun it would be to walk out and see them change every single day! Well, in seeing these two pictures you can already tell we have progress.
Day 1...haha
After they were planted...
This week!!! WOW!! Look at how much everything has changed....
The first day I saw the tomatoes.....
This week....We have little clusters like this all over! So exciting!
Jalapeños everywhere!
Day 1 on the left and this week on the right, although this bell pepper is growing so quickly and others are popping up all over!
Last but not least, we have a lovely zucchini and squash popping up as well!
It really is so exciting that we have progress!
We were only a little bit worried that things might not grow! :) Cannot wait to see more progress and finally be able to pick our veggies!

The Weekend Our Lives Got A Little Fuller

Family, Life, PhotographyLaura KittrellComment
Charlotte Elizabeth Blackman has made her entrance into this world. I said several times throughout Lindsey's pregnancy, "How are we going to love another one like we love Virginia?" haha. Well, one of the nurses told us on Friday, "Your heart just grows." I couldn't agree more. From the second I saw that tiny little girl I knew I was hooked........again. :) Here are many many pictures from our weekend.
Just checkin' things out! :)
Finally, at 1:27 she made her grand entrance....and daddy was hooked.

So in love....
Time for LiLi, Pop, and Gigi to hold her!
Aunt Amy
This sweet girl is already the best big sister!
Yeah Linds, you totally look like you just went through labor and had a baby. No big deal. :)
We didn't like our bath too much....
But sunbathing under that warmer sure is nice! :)

Everyone is hooked on this girl! We loved meeting her and are thankful for a safe arrival!
While mom and dad were at the hospital we had lots of fun playing with this big girl!

Her aunts totally love her!!

Time for them to come home from the hospital!!

Sweet little toes and fingers....
Kisses from the big sister

I feel so blessed to be an aunt to two beautiful little girls and our hearts really did grow this weekend! I am so thankful for these two angels!! Linds, you did awesome and Eric, you are an amazing husband and father! I am grateful for your sweet family!!! Love y'all!!

 Mmmm.....

Oh, and Mangs.....I know my heart will only continue to grow in August when Miss Lucy arrives!! EEK!! I am so excited!!

Weekend in ATL

LBK, Life, the two of us, TravelLaura KittrellComment
This past weekend Brett and I went to Atlanta to shop, relax, and take in a Braves game. It was so nice to get away and a perfect way to kick off spring break! I did a little video editing from the game.......Again, I'm not the best at it but I'm learning.

In other news...I will be heading to Lagrange tomorrow to meet my new niece and I could not be more excited! Pray for a safe delivery on Friday!!

The Table Completion

Life, ProjectsLaura KittrellComment
So I mentioned a few posts ago that Brett made a coffee table for our house. We finally painted it and he finished it during his spring break. First we primed it....
I saw this and it was kind of my inspiration. I liked the two toned. We already have some dark furniture so we knew we wanted to lighten it up a bit. I can't remember the exact colors but we painted the legs and and bottom a cream color and the top a golden tan.
I am really loving the way that it turned out! I feel like it compliments our room so well! My husband did a great job!
Sorry about the blurry iPhone picture. I will be back soon! I have shot a couple of weddings with Bayleigh M. Photography and would love to share some of the shots from these weddings soon!
We will also be spending this next weekend in Atlanta! I am excited to get away with my husband, shop a little, and see the Braves play! What a wonderful way to start my spring break! :) 2 days!

he & she (march 2012)

he and she, LBK, LifeLaura KittrellComment
:.. he and she ..:
She helped assist her very first wedding with Bayleigh M. Photography
And had a blast doing it!
He was very disciplined and got up early and ran many mornings
She barely blogged at all
He ran his first 10k and first race ever
She took a lot of pictures!
They were both really busy with work.
She did a few projects around the house...
He (and jeff) built and planted our garden
And he built a coffee table!
They found out they are having a NIECE in August!
Sorry for the lack of posting lately....it's not for lack of interesting things to post about but life is just busy! April is sure to bring fun and exciting days! Brett is on spring break and I will be in a couple of weeks! We will be road tripping to Atlanta in a couple of weeks! Mangs and Pudge finally decided on a name for Baby Jacobs!! I don't want to reveal it! I'll let Mangs do that but its precious!! :) This is also the month of Baby Charlotte's arrival!! AHH!! SO SO SO EXCITED!!!
Have a happy happy week!!

The Weekend

Family, Life, ProjectsLaura KittrellComment
Although this weekend was not a super restful one, it certainly was fun and didn't seem to fly by which is always nice! We were so excited about Saturday because it was Brett's first race! He has been running with Pudge many mornings at 5:00 A.M.! Brett is athletic but never really been a runner so this has been a huge sacrifice and I have been so proud of him! He decided to do his first race, the Azalea Trail Run, and not just the 5K, he went for the 10K! He and Pudge ran along with many of our friends!!
Beautiful morning to start us off!
Warming up.... :)
Basil ran his first race and did so well!!
Armbruster fam!!
My boy and I before...I was so sad I didn't run but probably would have struggled! I haven't been running consistently unfortunately! Need to start back up!
So many happy people ready to run!
There they are!
Josh finishing incredibly fast!
Doug!
Here comes Pudge!
There's my guy!! Finishing it up with Matt!
Good job boys!!
So proud of you!
Anna and Sam
The Estis fam ready for the fun run!!
Carter's so cool in his glasses!
It was such a fun day! After we were done Brett and Jeff went to buy our plants for our garden and on Sunday morning they planted them! We are so excited about having some fresh veggies in our backyard!!
So now, after some watering, we will hopefully have some large tomatoes, red, green, orange bell pepper, jalapeños, sweet basil, rosemary, zucchini, squash, and onion!
I hope your weekend was as pretty as ours! :)
