Wedding, Bridals, and Engagement Favorites of 2017

I always feel really honored when someone chooses me to photograph their wedding, bridal portraits, or engagement photos. These are some of the most memorable days of their lives, and it means so much to me. I was so encouraged to be able to photograph so many precious couples this year. I loved being able to shoot engagement sessions and bridal portraits, and loved when Brett joined me to help photograph wedding days. These couples are so kind to allow us into the most special day of their lives. We leave so many weddings feeling like we were part of the family! It is truly such a privilege to be a small part of their day. So....thank you sweet brides (and grooms!) for choosing me and trusting me to capture memories from this special time in your life! 2017 was such a sweet year! 

Neil and Jessica (engaged)

This precious couple's wedding is coming up in just a few short weeks! I can't believe I haven't pushed publish on this blog post! I met with Jessica and her mom a little before we took these engagement session and was so excited when they told me I was going to get to photograph their wedding and engagement photos. 

I could tell just from meeting with Jessica that she was extremely chill about wedding planning and a lot like me in the process. She certainly cares about the details of the day, but at the end of it all....she is ready and excited to get married! She told me about she and Neil and their relationship. We made plans for engagement pictures, and she told me he would be a bit of a jokester, but like most guys, probably wasn't thrilled about taking photos. :)  I was so excited for their session. 

We had so much fun. Neil cracked jokes the whole time, which made Jessica laugh...and that can never be a bad thing when taking pictures! I am so excited for their November wedding! It is going to be such a great day, and obviously, Jessica is going to be a beautiful bride! 

David and Jayne (engaged)

Oh my goodness!! I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to take David and Jayne's engagement photos. Typically, I find that the girl is always excited about photos and Jayne was...However, David enjoyed the process just as much! This always makes things so fun, and the session tends to flow a little bit better! I really did not have to pose them at all. I simply let them interact and directed only slightly... It was so much fun to hear about how they had met, their plans for after the wedding, and of course all the wedding day details! David and Jayne, I am seriously so excited for your December wedding!! You two are so precious, and it is going to be a great day!!

Chris and Sarah (engaged)

Chris and Sarah are such a precious couple! I have known Chris for several years. We met at a Summer Beach Project in Panama City and then went on a Cross Cultural Project to Brazil the next summer. I was so excited when he contacted me after he and Sarah got engaged! Sarah is so sweet, and I love how their pictures turned out! We had a lot of fun running around Springhill College and also getting Sarah's dog  to settle down for a few pictures! :) I cannot wait for their wedding at the end of April! It is going to be beautiful!! 

Favorites from 2016

I cannot adequately express my gratitude to all of my sweet clients in 2016. I have truly been so blessed by so many. As I was going through all of the many sessions, weddings, and special events I had the privilege of photographing this year, I felt so thankful. I had the opportunity to shoot countless families, lots of weddings, a few births, and so many other special memories. 

This was my first full year both working and being a mama. So many of my first weddings in 2016 I spent breaks in the back of my car pumping (haha). Many of you were kind enough to reschedule if my little one was sick. I cannot get over the grace that I was shown. 

Thank you so much to those of you who have allowed me to be a small part of your memories. Thank you to those who have come back year after year to let me take photos of your precious families. Thank you to those who let me be in the room as you gave birth. Thank you to my sweet couples who allowed me to be with you through your engagement and your wedding days. I am overwhelmed by how this little business has grown. 

To those of you that I get the privilege of serving in 2017, I am so excited!! Thank you for entrusting me to capture  your most priceless memories!

Matt and Maranatha (engaged)

I was so excited when this couple asked me to photograph their engagement photos, and soon their wedding!! Matt is family, and we spent lots of our childhood together. Our families are close, and we grew up doing children's choir, VBS, church picnics, and lots more! I met Maranatha a few years ago. She is from Africa, and when you meet her....she is an immediate friend. She has the sweetest heart, is incredibly friendly, is a talented musician, and genuinely cares about people. When I found out they were dating, and eventually when they got engaged, I was thrilled. I cannot wait to see what the Lord does as they begin their lives together in just a little over a week! :) 

Samuel and Alivia (engaged)

This sweet couple.....We are in countdown to their wedding!

Back in May I got to take some engagement pictures for them. They are so precious. We laughed and laughed while we took photos, and they were just so easy to photograph. Their love for each other is so evident. Honestly, they just had so much fun together! Alivia is beautiful and the way Samuel looked at her was so sweet. I am so grateful that I got to photograph this special time for them, and cannot wait for their wedding in a few weeks!! 

Adam and Victoria (engaged)

Adam and Victoria are such a sweet couple. I met Victoria through my husband, who grew up with her. She is so precious, and it was a joy to take their engagement pictures. We had the most gorgeous day! I cannot wait for their September wedding in Fairhope! It is going to be such a wonderful day! 

Lawson and Anna (engaged)

Lawson and Anna are such a sweet couple!! As you can see, Anna is absolutely gorgeous, and the way that Lawson looks at her is so precious. They were such naturals in front of the camera. Honestly, I barely had to pose them.

We started out downtown and ended our session back near Anna's house. I knew when I saw that adorable turquoise bike and that dirt road, it was going to be an awesome end to our session. We had the most gorgeous light towards the end, and I could not be more in love with how these pictures turned out! 

Anna and Lawson, I cannot wait for your wedding this fall!! 

Austin and Jillian (engaged)

Austin and Jillian have such a great story. I totally admire them and their relationship. I met up with them around Christmas time when Austin was home visiting. He is stationed in Alaska and is in the Air Force. They had been away from each other for a while, and then after seeing each other for a short time during Christmas, they would be apart until time for the wedding. Man oh man! I totally admire Jillian! That would be so challenging to be away from your fiancé, and it would make me even more eager for the wedding! We had so much fun taking pictures, and they are such a sweet couple! They will both be living in Alaska after their wedding in just over a month....how cool is that? :) Also, I get the privilege to take some bridal portraits for Jillian in a couple of weeks...How gorgeous will those be? Gracious...she is going to be a beautiful bride!!
