It's Fall!

Family, LBK, Life, Photography, the two of usLaura KittrellComment

Hello! Hello! It has been too long....as usual. We have moved out of September and are halfway through October? What? Life has been so busy. Isn't that what I say every single time? Yes. Between school and photography and life in general I cannot keep up. Sometimes life just needs to be lived and not written about. However, I do enjoy this little space and would like to be a more frequent visitor to my own site! :)

In the last months we have been busy with work, family visits, a little traveling, and much more. I'll hit the high points. One of the most exciting things was at the end of September we found out that the next little Jacobs baby will be a boy! We are so excited that we are getting a baby boy to love on!  Hurry up February!

Brett and I have enjoyed the fall so much. While we know that during the last two football seasons, we were in the center of God's will, it has been so nice having my husband home each afternoon and on Friday nights! What a blessing!

As far as photography, things are so busy. I am very thankful but it certainly is tough to balance it all! I definitely want to share more of my recent shoots! I am so happy that people allow me the privilege to capture their memories and I want to share those in this space soon! I am also the proud owner of a brand new camera! Ah....I did my first shoot with this baby this past weekend and  am looking forward to several more shoots this week! :)

Brett and I also did some location scouting and tested it out to get some shots of me for something I am working on. As you can see I was only slightly awkward being in front of the camera! :)

I love my husband!

I'll leave you with a lovely "fallish" picture of sweet Lucy at the pumpkin patch! Why oh why does it not feel like fall outside? Praying for cooler temperatures to make their way to us soon!!

Around Here

Around here we have been BUSY. Last week my sister-in-law brought my two nieces to town to stay while she and my brother went on a little vacation. So, those babies are here and it has been so busy and so fun! We have done a lot of swimming, some crafts, gone on walks, taken lots of pictures,  and entertained three little ones. P.S. Three babies is exhausting. Just saying.

Little mermaid! :)

Love these sisters! :)

Jimpa and VirginiaLove this big girl! :)

They will also be here for the weekend to celebrate this baby girl turning 1! Can't believe it has been a year! :)

Other than that, I am trying to sneak out here and there to get ready for a new school year. Is summer really over already? Ahh.... I will also be celebrating my 25th birthday Thursday! Gracious....me! It is going to be a busy few weeks!

I am just so thankful for God's grace! He has been showing me so much and I have learned a lot about prayer and that He hears me. I am in such need of His grace DAILY! What a loving Father we serve.

Update and Hello!

Family, LBK, Life, Photography, Portraits, the two of us, TravelLaura KittrellComment

I can't believe I haven't posted in a month. Well, that's a lie. I can actually. School ended and it's as if summer started, took off, and hasn't stopped. Life is busy. But, at the same time, I am still able to rest and relax.

Summer has been busy so far. I kicked it off with a vacation to West Palm Beach with my family. It was an amazing week of rest. The weather was so so but that didn't stop us from truly enjoying the rest and relaxation that came with it.

I think being an aunt might just be the best thing ever.

This man....I love him!

Sadly, we were missing Sam on this trip and we HATED that!

We made the 12 hour ride home on Friday and I jumped right back into work with a wedding on Saturday. It was a LONG and hot day and night but so much fun!

Congrats to this happy couple!

So my week has consisted of tons and tons of editing! I have another wedding tomorrow so I am gearing up for that as well. I am thankful to be busy and I really am having to practice balancing my time! Thankfully, I am off for the summer from school so that definitely helps.

In other news around the Kittrell house, we have been doing a couple of updates. I need to do a house tour soon! :) The other big news is that Brett is in the process of changing jobs. It has been a whirlwind of decisions and lots of prayer that has been leading up to this and we are really excited! I will share more at another time but we are still praying for direction and we are very thankful for how God has been leading us so far!

I need to get back to editing but I am so hoping I can pop in more frequently around here. I miss it! Plus, there is so much happening this summer! More weddings/shoots, a special niece's 4th birthday and a 1st birthday,  (however, I need to blog about Charlotte's first as well...it's coming Linds!), changes around the house, a trip to Tennessee, etc. So much stuff to pack into two months off of school! :)

A Few Ramblings

Faith, LBK, Life, Photography, the two of usLaura KittrellComment

I am simply terrible at getting a decent post out these days. I seem to wait and wait and finally just spit it all out and most likely forget important updates.

Anyways, February has been an incredibly quick month and March is upon us. I just cannot believe it. We celebrated my sweet husbands birthday this month. Let me just take a minute to talk about how thankful I am for him. I feel incredibly privileged to do life with him and be his wife. He is a true blessing in my life.

We had a week off and that we celebrated Brett's birthday, Valentine's day, and also welcomed a new member to the Kittrell family. World, meet Marcie.....

She's a sweet little girl and we are happy she is ours! :)

Oh, and just because I happen to think she is precious, we also took this sweet girls 6 month pictures.

IMG_0251.jpg

I know, I can hardly handle the cuteness. I am a proud aunt.

This month I also began a new Bible study at my church. We are going through Ephesians and it has been wonderful. There is just so much goodness in that book. I am loving being reminded of the gospel and thankful that I have been adopted and chosen as a daughter of the one true God. I have been learning a lot about my purpose. Currently, I am striving to be thankful for my daily routines that seem so insignificant. I am striving to be thankful for a job that I enjoy and that while it is not the only thing I want to do, it is what the Lord has for me to be doing. I am thankful for a wonderful home and my responsibilities here. I am thankful I have a husband who takes care of me and that I have the privilege to cook for and take care of him.

I have been reminded recently of Micah 6:8 that says, "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." --I pray that I can simply do that. I long to abide in Christ and have His love and His attributes to be evident in my life.

As for March, there are lots of exciting things happening... starting with welcoming another new Kittrell into the family! Ash and Drew are getting married this weekend and I am thrilled to be able to be the photographer of this wedding!

So it should be another busy month and I am excited and ready to embrace it!

Life Lately...

Engagements, Faith, Family, LBK, Life, Photography, the two of usLaura KittrellComment

January was the month of no blogging. Obviously. :) I hope this isn't a sign of the next year. Life has been busy so I'll give a few updates.

On the photography front I have to say, I thought things would slow down in January. After the hustle and bustle of fall and getting people's Christmas pictures done and edited quickly before the deadline of Christmas cards went out, I thought January would be slow. While, it hasn't been as busy, the Lord has been gracious to still allow me to do what I love on the side. Here are just a few updates......

First up, this lovely couple who will be getting married in June! :) They were SO FUN!

Secondly, this sweet couple who are waiting for their lives to change forever with welcoming the birth of their first son, Aiden.

I surely cannot wait for him to get here! :)

Lastly, just this weekend I had the privilege of taking my brother-in-law and ALMOST sister-in-laws engagement pictures! They have LESS THAN A MONTH! I am so excited for them and cannot wait for March 2nd to photograph my first official wedding on my own but also to welcome Ashley to the family!

So sweet....

January was an incredibly long month. We also had a visit from my aunt and cousins which was such a fun weekend!

Other than that, we have just been watching this little girl grow and praying the other cousins would move home! :)

IMG_0182-1024x682.jpg

It's been a long month and I am thankful that we are now in February! God has been so gracious to Brett and I. He has been teaching us a lot about dying to ourselves. He has also taught me a lot about trusting Him. Nothing is too hard for Him and I am grateful for the grace He continues to pour over my life. I am thankful that He satisfies and that He is enough! What a blessing to serve Him and have a relationship with my Lord

IMG_0328-1024x682.jpg

Oh yeah, I am also thankful for this guy who will be celebrating his birthday on Monday! I think he is definitely worth celebrating. Brett is such an answer to prayer and I am thankful for his sweet heart.

Well, that was a short and sweet update but hey, at least there were pictures! :) Hopefully I can blog more soon!

Photography Updates

Families, LBK, Life, PhotographyLaura KittrellComment

Alright October, you have been a crazy busy month! This would explain the lack of posting around this blog. I have so much to update however I am going to stick with the photography related updates! I really had the best intentions of doing a separate post for each session that I did! Ha! Have I mentioned that the whole photography business thing is part time (ish) and I still teach everyday? Yes, that makes updating this blog a bit challenging! I will share a couple of favorites from each session that I have had in October and hopefully from here on out I can do a post for each session. :)

We will kick it off with Miss Audrey who made her debut earlier this month! What an angel she was! Her parents are dear friends of ours and I was so happy I got to document her on her fourth day of life! :)

Next up, I got to meet up with two sweet friends from high school! Their precious little boy, Bryson, is turning 1! We even got to do a smash cake and that angel LOVED it!! It was so GREAT to see you two!

I then met up with the Hamilton Family! Little Miss Kate was so sweet even in the midst of having a cold!! :)

The next day I met up with a second Hamilton family! :) We wanted a major fall theme and Ashley even cut out a pumpkin for little Liam to sit in! So fun!

Next, I met up at the park with the Lee brothers! They were so cute and full of so much personality!!

IMG_1199-1024x682 (1).jpg

This beautiful girl was supposed to be the flower girl in a wedding but there was a change of plans and the trip could not be made! However, we did not want to miss the chance to document this sweet girl in her "princess dress" as she called it! I felt like I was photographing a fairytale!

My last update for this post is little Olivia who turned 1 last weekend! First of all, look at those eyes! Oh my goodness!! It was such a privilege to photograph her first birthday party!

If you stuck with me, thank you! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU to all of you sweet clients who allowed me to take photos of your kiddos and families this month! It has been a joy and although it was incredibly busy, I am thankful for the opportunity! :)

Although the month of October was crazy busy (and is still not over :) ), it was such a blessing! I am grateful to be busy and to be able to do something I love both in the classroom and doing the photography thing! I would so appreciate your prayers as October comes to a close and November begins! I will be back soon with another update on life in general!

P.S. Brett and I have almost been married a year! What? When did this happen?

Charlotte's Birth Video

Family, Life, PhotographyLaura KittrellComment

So after I made Lucy's birth video I decided that sweet little Charlotte had been left out and needed a video for sure! Her daddy is way better at things like this and has actual video footage. I only have photos! But, for her momma's sake I figured she wouldn't care if she got two videos of her second born! :) So....here is the video I made for my second born niece! What a special special day it was and I am so thankful I got to be there since I was not there for Virginia's birth!

So, other than taking pictures, I also created a video of that special day that my sweet niece was born. She is such a blessing and this video shows her day from beginning to time contractions until she went home from the hospital. It's a long video but it was all too special to leave any part of it out! :) We are so thankful for this sweet baby!

Dying to Share

Family, Life, Photography, UncategorizedLaura KittrellComment

Hello all! I am sorry it has been so crazy. With changing hosting sites for this blog and all of the craziness that occurred last week I have just not had any time to post or even get this site up and running. I just have to say that soon there will be a blog about Lucy Myer's birth. I am in the middle of beginning the school year and doing a million other things that it just hasn't happened. I won't be posting her whole birth story since that is her momma's place! Mainly, I have to write about what a rockstar my sister is and how amazed I am at God's faithfulness and just the process of birth. Ladies, we really were made to do this! :) We are all so in love with this angel and I am one incredibly proud sister! Amy was unbelievable. Jeff was so great. It was such an amazing thing to witness and I am blessed that I was able to be there!

In the mean time......here are a couple of pictures keep you happy.

Daddy loves this little girl!

Sweet momma

Love them!

One of her newborn photos...

Hope that will hold you over till I can get my act together! :)

Thank you for your prayers and kind words over this last week!

I guess since this is my sister and she is pregnant with her first baby, we have done more photoshoots than the norm. :) We are excited...what can we say? Plus, I love any excuse to take pictures! These were taken last week after I got the privilege to go to her last ultrasound! SO SO FUN!!

Here are a few more maternity pictures....

I mean....does she even look 36 weeks? So pretty!

Love this little peanut already!!! :) Look at that sweet profile!!

Thanks for letting me take some pictures for you Mangs! So ready to meet Miss Lucy!
